We are developing a large Android open source project (https://www.openhub.net/p/Osmand) - Top 10 among Android based on https://www.openstreetmap.org/ (Wikipedia for maps).Our goal is to create a universal map tool that can be used in almost any situation. At the moment, about 2,000,000 people around the world are actively using it.

Job description​

OsmAnd is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic open-source software developer with good knowledge of Android platform and technologies.

Qualifications​

Requirements​

  • 2+ years experience in Android development
  • strong knowledge of Java, Kotlin and Android SDK
  • technical English (higher level is advantage)
  • Support Library
  • XML/JSON
  • SQLite
  • OOP, Multithreading & Concurrency

Nice to have​

  • Git + Github experience
  • Any GIS-expierience
  • OpenStreetMap mapper knowledge

Responsibilities​

  • Implementing new features
  • Maintaining the project
  • Covering code with unit tests
  • Refactoring code
  • Taking a part in planning and proposing new ideas
